Parallax Adjustment?

I am looking at purchasing a Swarovski scope with a third turret parallax adjustment and am wondering if the adjustment affects focus like an AO scope? For hunting can the parallax be set for 100 meters and used for all ranges like a non adjustable variable power scope or do you have to adjust/focus for every range every time? Thanks in advance.

The third turret is commonly referred to as side focus. It accomplishes the same thing as an AO in that it must be adjusted for the proper range. So yes, it must be adjusted for range. IMO side focus is preferred over an AO.....thats just me though...

generally speaking, it depends on what magnification you're gonna use it at. the lower the mag the more sloppy you can afford to be with the focus / parallax setting. so if you have a 6-24x then at 6x you can set it for 100yd and leave it there, but if you crank it to 14x or 20x then you'd need to be a bit more cognisant of the range / setting.
