parallax discussion

In simplistic terms, I think of parallax as 'focusing an image' just like a SLR camera. You remember what those are don't you? They have a lense you can twirl and twist, with knobs and buttons YOU have to move to get the image just so. And they use that grey stuff in a roll called film.

The AO, side or rear focus simply moves or focuses a lense so that the image of the distant object falls on the same optical plane as the reticle. This removes the distortion or 'out of focus' that is refered to as parallax. Usually, provides the clearest image too.

I try not to get anymore complicated then that...
