Parallax question re: my first scope

I am about to buy my first scope to put on my CZ 455 Lux 22lr. I am considering a Bushnell Legend Ultra HD. Though I have read FTAview's very informative postings on scopes, a few things about parallax are still not clear to me.

I hope to shoot 50 and 100 yds. I wonder if the parallax adjustment will allow me to shoot these distances effectively, since I read that scopes are "set" for a particular distance. Also, would it be possible to use this same scope to shoot 20 yds. occasionally during the winter when our outdoor range is closed?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Yes you are right in that rimfire scopes have a parallax setting for 50yds and centrefire generally are set to 100yds. So if you have a rimfire you want to shoot at 50 and 100 it is best to get one with an adjustable objective lens or in the case of the legend you are looking at, side focus. I replaced the first scope on my HMR for the same reason. Then I put a bushnell elite 3-9x40 limited edition with side focus on it and am extremely happy. It dials down to 15yds. Not sure about the legend but some scopes dial down to 10yds so shooting at 20yds shouldn't be a problem.

If you're looking to do some 20 yrd shooting you need to get a scope that will focus that distance. My new Vortex Viper only goes to 50, so at 25 the target is very fuzzy. All my other scopes dial down under 20 and work good for indoor pistol range. Lots of options, many opinions on here also.

There should be a minimum parallax distance on the scope info sheet.
Some go down to 10 yards/feet.
If you can't find it, call Bushnell with your model of scope.

paralax adjustment, is to adjust the reflection of the target on the reticule
if the paralax is not set at the proper range, it means it is reflected in front of it or behind so when you move your eye a little, the reticule is moving on the target
so when your eye is not perfectly centered with the scope axis, you can aim bulls'eye but the rifle actualy point a few inch off
and you dont understand what happended and think the scope is not holding its zero
