Paris Gun Auction

No, they didn't have anything that interested me. That said, I keep a real close eye on it now because the last time I didn't a pretty nice Marlin 336 in .35 Rem sold at a pretty decent price. I won't make that same mistake twice.

I used to follow them when they didn't have on line bidding ( kinda like fantasy football and then would compare with the selling prices afterwards) some stuff went for cheap and some stuff crazy high. I noticed this time that they have 2 websites hosting the online bidding icollector and proxibid yet the same gun on icollector had a bid of $30 and the same gun on proxibid had a bid of $500 so not sure how that works. How would you know which site to use?

I followed it a bit online as I was out of province. I used to go a lot when I was younger but ever since they went online prices have gone through the roof. Not what it used to be.

Did the converted auto FnFal sell?? i was in discussions with Jim a guy from the auction about the RCMP probably going to ask for it to be sent to ottawa for verification ...he didnt know what i was talking about but they had a letter from the old halton cfo Cherry McAdem telling what was done to it ...i told him that meant squat these daze except you can send that letter with the gun to ottawa to help their techs check the conversion ...maybe only take 2.5 years instead of 3+ like mine there

I went to friday's preview to checkout all the Lee enfield's,most had issue's so I checked out the other surplus rifle's + came across a mauser rifle in excellent condition, looked at the reciever + it was stamped DOU 45 with the eagle removed, checked the marking's on the side of barrel, the eagle was removed but the swastika in the circle below it was left alone and the serial number's matched. So I checked the bolt, stock, butt plate, etc. + all number's matched + german inspector marked untouched.Looked in the cataloge + the rifle was described as just a mauser rifle.I went back saturday + it now reside's in my gun locker waiting for better weather to shoot it.The price with the buyer's premium + taxes was less than the current russian captured rifles are selling for today. So there was a few deal's + it does payoff to preview if your local rather than sit at home + bid.

Funny enough put a bid on that online just to see how it went. Good someone gets to enjoy it

bought the Webley 38 S&W model IV and a Winchester model 77. Re finished the stock already and tightened up the Webley. Sold the TC Contender parts that i bought and made a few bucks, paid for Webley. Add 28% for online bidding. no time to go, but i always register, and buy with limit so I dont get much. Set a price thats affordable and dont go beyond. Some times theres a hard to find gun thats worth the extra cost, for a real gun nut.
