A friend of mine has been talking about a shot gun he had or the part of gun he had, on newyears he gave it to me to see if and what I could find out about it. It's a parker brothers made in 1909 sxs but he does not have the barrels or the forend for it just the stock with the reciever would any one know were I would even start to look thanks

I see two options:

1. Find and old set of suitable Parker barrels and a fore end, and have them fitted to the action. $$$ They are not just going to snap in.

2. Have a new set of barrels and a fore end made from scratch. $$$$$$

I think you are into a lot of money either way. Option 2 price would probably knock you over.

Parker Bros. used 6 different frame sizes & corresponding barrels, and hand fit each barrel, the odds are not in your favour.

But is it is a late trojan grade, your odds improve.

I have several Parkers (and have had many more) & I have never been lucky enough to have any two of them even come close to being interchangeable.

The cost of fitting a set would be prohibitive.

Good luck

Mark

Did he pick that up at the Brandon gun show about 6-8 years
ago?? I remember selling the same thing (for the reasons given above)
Edit- Now that I think on it it would have been more like 12 years ago.

LOL I have one under my bed. 100 plus yrs old, wood is nice, but unfortunately it belonged to my grand father, and my idiot uncle got it after Gramps died, and he kept it in the basement for a long long time. It got some surface runt on it so he decided to use steel wool to clean it up  took off all the bluing and case coloring. I now have it, I am guessing there is no longer and value to it, but it has scared off two different people who walked into my apartment late at night lol
