Parker hale m87

The C3A1 was an M87 action. Fantastic rifle, but good luck finding one, they are very hard top come by. Also, some of the parts on the C3A1 like the magazines and the scope base/rings were propriatray to the C3A1. If you can find an M87 action or complete rifle, grab it. M85's and M86 rifles are the same, very difficult to find, the 1200TX comes up every now and then, they were the C3 rifles, also very good and accurate.

There is an little information about the short comings of the C3 in the summer/autumn issue of the Marksman. It can be found on the DCRA web page.

The Parker Hale 1200 is probably the closest you can get. They are around and you can find original C3 stocks on Gunnutz, Kahles scopes and parker hale bipods on e-bay.

With money and luck you can put together something very close to the C3

Well as you say the parts are hard to come by but not impossible. I have managed to collect them all and mine is a genuine C3A1 rifle and it is in getting the barrel fitted as we speak. I hope it looks nice when it is done.

it is a origanl parker-hale barrel chambered in 7.62 and i have a line on a unertl scope but I think i might put a bushnell 6500 on it.I even managed to come up with 2x 6 round mags for it.and yes when it is done i will send some pics.

Do it once and do it right: get the damn Unertl! Anyone can get a 6500 - make something unique that'll have people wondering. Don't give in, even if you have to wait and save up.

I have a 6X Unertl Condor. It has three white dots around the perimeter of the objective and ocular bell housing. I have read that these dots indicate the scope has been specially sealed against moisture, and that they were done like this for the US forces.

Is this the same scope you guys are talking about?

Ted

Hey Ted,

The scope in question is the Unertl 10X that was used on the C3A1/USMC
M40A1/A3. Whole hunk of change - $2700-3000 if you can find em.

I used to own one - traded it for the S&B 3-12x50 PMII that now sits on my
M40A3. Bought mine years ago before the stupid ITAR laws and it cost me over $2300 us back then, even with the LEO discount.

Redneck74, congrats on your build. Some pics would be great to see when you get it done. You going to use the original wood stock or a McMillan A2?

All the best, Carl

This is the one Carl is talking about...

I am in the proccess of building one, I have the trigger clip group(care of C.F.B. edmonton), mc millan stock )(correct one) and a montana barrel at 26" match chambered to 1-12" twist, Parker hale action. Have not finished or put together yet. I will test fire and probably sell this gun.

C3a1

Well I would like to say it is going to live in a mcmillan A2 stock but they are not cheap when you can find them.So for now it lives in wood. Wood looks better most of the time but when shooting at 30 below the A2 has less movement.

Well it is still at the gunsmith right now but here is a prebuild pic for you with my bushnell 3200 on it.

That is a nice C3, I hope you are not having to much done to it? Find yourself a ZF-69 6X and it is perfect.
