Has anyone here actually looked at one of these Parker Hale reproductions?

More commonly known as the "03" or "Springfield", the US Rifle, .30-06 M1903A3 has earned considerable recognition in the firearms hall of fame.

Built to exacting standards at Parker-Hale's factory in Birmingham, where it is also proofed, the M1903A3 and M1903NM (National Match) are quality rifles that feature completely interchangeable parts with the original models on which they are based.

With the M1903NM "National Match", Parker-Hale has recreated this legendary rifle in surprising detail, meeting exactly the original specifications to bring within everyone's reach one of the finest service match rifles ever made.

Barrel and receiver carefully bedded and floated, resting against bottom of groove at muzzle - bands hand-tight.

Lyman 0.040in aperture receiver sight with knurled target thumb knobs for windage and elevation.

Barrel Bore 0.3005in (max) - groove 0.3085in (max). Variation not over 0.0001in. Chamber & bullet seat as near min. as possible.

Bolt Bright & polished - cam surfaces burnished. Buffed by hand after hardening. Bolt lift not over 15 pounds.

Trigger: 3.5 to 4.5 pounds without creep

Their so-called "NM" appears to be based on the 03-A3, making it a repro of a rifle that did not exist outside of prototypes. Springfield tried to create a National Match quality rifle from the -A3 post war but gave it up as unworkable.

No worries you can import a barrel without going to jail.

However haviong said that I have had a M91/30 sniper scope sent back once from Empire Arms because the CDN border bandits thought it was a rifle receiver.

####ing idiots.

John Rothery Wholesale in the UK owns the rights to the Parker-Hale name, they have been shutdown for years, even though there web site is still running....go figure. If you want to buy old stock of theirs it went to Norman Clark Gunsmith, or John Rothery, but they don't manufacture any thing anymore.

Springfield 1903 repro

Is it available in Canada or is someone willing to import some for those who are interested??

I'd like to have one, depending on price too :)

The new production replica's of commonly available milsurps are kind of pointless IMHO.......
Take the Springfield armory M1's.....$1800CAD. You can buy an M1 in very decent shape for $500, get a new boyds stock and have the whole thing refinished for $300........same thing and coming in $1000 cheaper.
Same deal with these 03's/A3's.....can be found for $400-$500 and refinished for a few hundred bucks. Now before the puritan wanna-be collectors come down saying "but it's worth more in original condition".......well they aren't buying these "good" condition rifles to begin with, they want better examples. Shooters are willing to pay alot more than collectors for commonly available milsurps, and they sure don't mind if they have been restored to like new condition.
