They were pricey enough back then too, equivalent to a cool $1400+ in today's dollars.
Still a sleeper on the used market running around $500 most places, see the odd consignment piece for stupid asking prices of $2000+ lol.
Considering PH didn't even manufacture the actions or the stocks, the most time consuming and expensive pieces of the equation, they probably should have retailed a fair bit less back then.
Only have 2, 6.5x55 lightweight, and 3006 with that triangle stock, no idea the actual model numbers they were sold as. They shoot good, triggers can be adjusted to something acceptable. Kinda sloppy actions compared to the HVA 98's, but the triggers/safety are definitely more user friendly on the PH.
I'm also a sucker for the BSA CF2 that was made around the same time, pretty much across the street from PH factory. Different rifle entirely, push feed, etc etc, but well made and still in that $500 used bracket.
