A friend has a couple old Parker Hale rifles he's looking to get rid of, but was wondering what they might be worth.

One is chambered in 7mm Magnum and the other in .308 Norma Magnum. Both have been used and show wear on the stocks, barrels, etc. No rust and he wants to sell them both with the scopes that are on them. The 308NM stock is cracked near the pistol grip.

I won't be able to get out there to inspect them personally and get pics for a couple weeks, but providing the bores are good, approximately what could a guy expect to get for these? I think they are "Safari Super" models.

500 for both. Shame the stock is cracked but likely you could repair it

Thanks. The crack is very fine and barely noticeable. I don't think you could even get any kind of glue in it.

Do you mean $250 each or $500 each?

400 for the hunted one plus 100 for the cracked one, likely I'm being too hard on them but I can't see them in person.

I would have figured 400 for cracked one and 500 for the other one. So long as the bores are good. PH mounts and rings are worth quite a bit on their own too. Also PH bottom metals go for quite a bit as well.

So it looks like you have one guy offering 1000 to 1050 for the pair. Or was that not an offer? The thing to do is to put them on the equipment exchange for what you think they should bring and see what happens. Quite often, there is a significant difference between what an item is perceived to be worth and what it will sell for. Those bases may well be soldered on. The crack is not only repairable but such repair would be absolutely necessary.
