Parker Hale sights value?

I was wondering about the value of a set of PH 5C or PH 4 sights? They are for the No#4 MKI any advantages or disadvantages to either.I want to punch paper and perhaps hunt with them.are the 6 hole aperatures available seperately or hard to find? Thanx Harold

I could have bought an LE trials rifle with a PH #5A sight 2 years ago at the Waverley gunshow, for $200 all in.

This one appears to have the 6 hole aperature + side plate.Should it have mounting screws and the little spring or is that on the rifle origionally? PH5C Harold

For the 5C there is no spring. One short screw and one long screw with a jam nut that goes thru the receiver. The spring and plunger are used for the flip up aperature sight.

The actual peep which screws into the 5C are numbered. Some have just the peep and the one I have has the letter 6. One other has six settings and is marked PH59. Both are similar in size and are perhaps one quarter inch thick. Another is perhaps one half inch thick and has the yellow lenses with six settings. The number on that one is PH60. Hope that helps. The larger one you are looking at could be a PH60 lens.

Price a modern micrometer target sight made for other rifles, and Parker-Hale or A.J. Parker sights are not unreasonable.

For myself, not really. I suppose under some conditions the yellow lens might reduce sun glare and are probably more desirable.
