At Christmas, I bought an old No.4 Mk1 "sporter". The serial# is BA203xx. The barrel has a flat spot ground just where it mates to the action. On there it has stamped "Made in England" and Parker-Hale in an arc over top. On the side of the action is stamped No.4MK1. To the left of that, it has been ground down, as if to remove some stampings. (Manufacturer?) It is in reasonable shape, came with a magazine, and has the military front site without the lugs. The rear site is a flip up and down with two different ranges. The butt plate appears to be brass. No, I don't think it was used by Winston Churchill, but if anybody has some info, please post. Thanks in advance. :p:p

Parker Hale made sported versions of Lee Enfields after WW2, from plain jane, to quite fancy. Yours is one of the plain jane ones - still a respectable rifle.
