Here is a book that you might find interesting if you like the MP40.

student of history,

I think I started collecting when I was around twelve to fifteen years old?
My Father bought me a 1844 dated French cavalry saber at a pawn shop which I still have...and it took off from there.

I am now 66 and much of my collection is U.S. Civil War based with WWII German -American and some Russian WWII stuff.

Collecting interests change over time for a number of reasons....and I guess you just go with it?

Thats what happened to me???

David

I did not get into Russian stuff before I got this PPSh-41 in 2005. (CA)

stevedrums,

No...it does not bother me.

If I want to shoot I will shoot these guys.

I will leave the WWII warriors at peace.

It's collections like this that we need to press more to get the law changed so new people can acquire and preserve history. Otherwise, what will be the fate of all these awesome firearms? Tell us, David, you have a relative who will be able to carry on the collection.

I am a firm believer that collectable firearms should be owned by collectors that know and appreciate them.....and that will look after them.

I will not be leaving this stuff to my two sons as they just have a passing interest in this hobby.

Neither has a PAL and there are many prohibs 12(6) and 12(3) s involved.

My plan is to sell them at some point in the future.

This German collection is one of three/four different collections that I have, the others being WWII American, some WWII Russian, with the larger collection being U.S. Civil War arms and militaria.

I do give a lot of thought to this subject as I don't want to leave my family with this burden.

Love your collection, it's awesome. Look up a fellow on youtube named Kiwifernie, he has one super collection of world war two firearms and the like from several nationalities..Worth a look if you're into the war memorabilia.
