Gentlemen,
The US is at WAR as of Dec. 1941. Many of you guys thought that what I called Winchester-Gate was funny. To the troops in the field BECAUSE of Winchester the troops at that time didn't think it was funny at all. They were to busy dieing.

Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History.

At that point if I was the US Government with some power lets say like the Secretary of War I'd have confiscated the equipment Winchester got to produce the rifles as a "for building of important war supplies" that Winchester was lucky to get that deal with the government in the first place, sent them to Springfield Armoury and expanded that Armoury and cut Winchester out of ALL other military contracts.

The Sec. of War did get into this and Win kept right on fighting with Ordnance during all of WW2.
