I am fixing up a Lee Metford carbine and want to try and return her to her original glory. Anyone have any idea who may have parts and a stock available?, repo would do as well.

Can anyone recommend someone who can reproduce one of these stocks to military specs?

I was thinking about trying to use a No 4 stock and trim it down, any ideas?

There was a guy on your side of the border who made a new forend and handguard for the "bubbad" NZ carbine that I rescued from a pawn shop.
Unfortunately I have lost touch with him, but possibly the folks on this forum may have an address. He did have a website at one time.

Rumour has it ### Baron died. I was never was able to confirm it, but I have never seen him again at the Montreal shows.

I've been looking for a stock for a long lee for about a year for my restoration project. I think our only hope will be to find some one with a stock who would be kind enough to let it be duplicated.

I suggest that you send a message to englishman_ca here on GunNutz. He has worked on a lot of these old rifles and has some interesting connections. Great guy to deal with too.

Carbine fore stock

No.4 rifle has different inletting as the action is machined different and the barrel is fatter.

However, your carbine will drop right into SMLE wood, barrel taper is much the same.

This is an example of a reworked stock. If you squint at it from a distance at night, you cannot tell.

A few cutouts had to be filled, but cutting down the length will give you colour and grain matching offcuts to work with.

Finding the metal bits is the challenge.
