I haven’t been tinkering with the modern sporting rifles in a while and decided that it was time to give one a facelift... went on the parts EE for some FDE furniture and it’s a ghost town? I understand that some of our toys have to be locked away right now but I never thought it would dry up the parts EE this bad. I guess since guys can’t shoot them they arnt customizing and finishing builds?

Well, the vast majority of available “Black and Green rifle” parts are for the AR15 family of firearms. Seeing as that entire family is effectively unusable, very few are making changes, and therefore there isn’t a lot of activity trying to sell leftover parts. It’s not that much of a mystery.

Why sell, when you might not be able to buy?

Why buy when you can't shoot?

Why spend money when the economy is crashing?

I had heard that there has been some issue with custom's seizing parts order coming in (dealers and individual) and if that is true I would think that most are hanging on to parts as they might be harder to come by.

Go search for parts on all the retailers’ sites. That’s why people are holding on to their parts.

I read about a guy having an AR 15 Stock he ordered from Brownells seized by customs as a prohib part due to the new bans. I have that exact stock he ordered as a spare, that in normal times I would offer to sell to him, but knowing it would be so hard to get another if I did (mine also came from Brownells before the ban). I think I'll just keep my spares

Uh oh. My 870 pump used the ar15 grip and stock. Can't buy those anymore?

People with rifles and parts for black rifles are all like

I've had a plain jane black m4 stock for sale for a couple weeks now for what I thought was a good price. No takers. Not even an offer. Not really surprised as most dont need those and they get thrown away and are the first thing people replace on their new rifle.
