I lost the mag tube for my Henry 17HMR Varmint Express. I thought it would be simple enough to go to Cabela's and order it in, but this is not the case. Cabela's gave me the names of two placed I could order it from; "Inland" and "North Silva". Neither can order it for me. One of them suggested "Jo Brook" and "Western Gun Parts". Neither of them can order it from Henry either. I called Henry and was told they cannot give me a name of a Canadian retailer that can order it. They sell to a distributor only in Canada, who will not sell retail, and Henry does not know who the distributor sells too. This seems ridiculous to me. It's just a mag tube! Does anyone know who sells or can order in Henry parts in Canada and can actually sell it to the consumer? Any help is appreciated.

p.s. Based on everything you hear on US forums about Henry's fantastic customer service, I have emailed Anthony Iperato (the pres.) to see if he can help.

An update on this. I got a response from Anthony at Henry within an hour of sending my email. They are sending me a mag tube at no charge. Wow! I guess Henry's reputation is well earned.

A couple of years ago I purchased a new Henry 22lr pump from a gun shop in Ontario.
When i rec'd it there was a crack in the forearm.I called Henry all they wanted was the serial number to verify the correct part.About 3 weeks later a new pierce of wood showed up in my mail box no charge,Not to shabby sent to Manitoba. No problems what so ever. Now why couldn't the gun shop retailer do the same thing? Beats me. If I owned a gun shop it would be a no brainier to talk to Henry and get it done. You would have a customer for life.

Who is the distributor here in Canada? You would think that asking them for a dealer should not be out of the question. Or perhaps you simply didn't get that far when Mr Imperato stepped up to the plate?

It's also a shame that our Canadian distributor isn't as approachable as Mr Imperato has proved to be with the parent company.

There are more than one Canadian suppliers of guns that don't give a Sh** about you or your gun after you have paid for it. Just try and buy some CZ parts for a 455 or 452 No one will step up to the plate and say let me order that for you. They look at you like a Deer in the headlights and say can't get that for you. There isn't any real common sense on how to order parts.I won't mention any companies but via e mail they don't even answer with a sorry unable to get that.Just no response to the request. It has got me stumped.

I am a little disappointed with Cabela's on this one. Both distributor names they gave me were complete duds. They really should be able to order a simple part like a magazine tube in from Henry, or at the very least point me in the right direction. It was my mistake to lose it and I would have been happy to pay for the replacement. Cabela's is really doing their supplier (Henry) and their customer (me) a disservice with this policy of not ordering in parts.

BCRider - I still don't know who the distributor in Canada is. The first person I spoke to at Henry couldn't tell me because (if I understood correctly) Henry sells to an importer, who then sells to a Canadian distributor. She said she could't give me the name of the distributor because she didn't know who it was, and she couldn't give me the name of the importer because they do not deal with retail customers. Hooped either way!

I'm happy that Henry stepped up to the plate in the end, and I guess all is well that ends well.......... until next time I need a Henry part.

Hmmmm..... I'm going to ask my regular gunsmith about this. I know he's worked on any number of Henry guns since there's a few of the cowboy shooters that use Henry Big Boy rifles. I'll get back to this in a week or two when I learn more. Got to get past Christmas first.

And yeah, it's not the first distributor that couldn't care less. Back before Freedom Ventures took over Taurus the outfit that handled that brand was a dead loss for ANY sort of servicing or parts. So other than the Taurus 1911, which is a regular 1911 so it uses regular parts for any 1911, it was a brand which was struck dead in the water if anything at all broke. CGN was full of dead Taurus gun threads and lots of condemning of the previous outfit.
