I'm going to build up a ruger 10/22. I'm going to use a hogue stock and a 16 inch heavy barrel. Something a bit like the tactical target model.

But what are the best internals for ultimate reliability? I'm not looking for the highest level of accuracy bench type rifle. But obviously want it to shoot well in the field.

So what trigger group etc? Vq or is that too target orientated? I want something that will shoot bulk ammo as reliably as possible. And I'm willing to spend the money for the right parts. Lets for fun say its the end of the world close range zombie killer which has to function perfectly for years and 1000's of rounds with just regular cleaning etc.

I would suggest maybe working on polishing the stock internals. Change out the steel buffer the bolt smacks for a nylon or poly one. Reduce some noise and wear and tear on the bolt. I am completely happy with the stock internals on my 10/22. Just a little time makes a world of difference.
