I’m looking for a partridge style front sight to put on my 9422. Does anyone know of any place that supplies these? I believe the standard front sight on the 9422 is .290” but I’m sure could file down a taller sight if I had to.

Partridge front sight and square notch rear is to only way to go. My 50+ year old Becal ToZ17 has them, I've been doing this on all my none scoped rifles ever since. EVERY person who said that he cant shoot unless it has scope has a wow moment when the try it. Buckhorn is in my opinion the worst sight ever. They get the file and some cold blue touch-up first thing.

Lot's like them that's for sure..... I on the other hand like full curl buckhorn's , peeps and small bead sights myself....... either brass or red light tubes.

I agree, I've become a huge fan of using that combination in recent years. I find with my eyes not as good as they used to be I am much more accurate with a square front post picture combined with a square notch or aperture rear sight.

I've never ran a buckhorn but I'd like to give them a try at some point, there's got to be a reason so many people swear by them.

I hear more people swear against them but they work for me. My eyesight is still pretty good though so perhaps it will change with time?

With a little imagination a buckhorn (specially the full buckhorn) sight can be used like a ghost ring sight. It has the disadvantage of being further away from the eye but the advantage of offering multiple sight pictures for different elevation holds.
