Have you tried here: h ttps://www.facebook.com/pages/Canadian-Patterdale-Terrier-Breeders/103750943000866

Getting a dog in the states is easy. Bought a Great Dane last September in the states, picked it up and drove it through the border. All I needed was the vet pamphlet that showed its shots up to date, paid the duty and came home. Easy peasy nice and easy

Same, we brought a Scottish Deerhhound in from CA., and it was pretty painless.

Vet check paperwork, which the breeder should be well familiar with.

Paid the duty?
A few of you have stated this.

I brought over my wire haired pointer from the UK and didnt pay nothing

Did they ask you to declare the value of the dog (not the shipping). Our great Dane was $1,500us so had to pay the tax, yes they are taxable (LOL should be able to claim as a dependent then )

Imported a Wirehair from the UK? There are a lot more good breeders here in North America than in the UK. Some really good working breeders of Patterdales in the US.

yes i flew my dog over from the UK to canada.
as for paying duty i told the CBSA it was worth nothing and paid no duty.
i paid $100 for him.
funny with the CBSA as they told me the dog couldnt work and he wasnt going to be granted permanent residency!!!!

i am not sure about the breeders in the states being better than UK ones as the dogs originated from northern england

I am not trying to come across the wrong way but be helpful, but you need to research dog breeds more. The only pointing breeds to come out of the UK are the Setters and English Pointer. Wirehaired breeds were developed in Europe, hence the term Continental breeds, along with the other shorthaired ones. The UK breeds are specialists, pointing, flushing, retrieving, running game and vermin control due to the style of hunting in the UK. In Europe they wanted one dog to "do it all" and that is where the versatile dogs originated from.

I have talked to dog guys of all types in Canada, US, Europe. Retriever, pointer, terrier and houndsmen, by that I mean worked at kennels in the UK and Master of Hounds at a Hunt here in Canada. If you want to know something just ask and I will try and answer your questions.

Cheers

PS The European breeds are called HPR in the UK and Versatile in NA
