Can anyone tell me what is the smallest (shortest) magazine that will work in the Ruger PC9? I'm not talking capacity, I mean physically the shortest mag, whether Glock or Ruger. I don't have the rifle yet, but plan on getting one, and I would like at least one magazine that is as short as possible. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I'll look for one or two. Any suggestions on a good place to pick them up?

IRunGuns will be the most reliable source for in-stock mags (even though it will probably need to be imported)

The pc9 takes glock mags and not Ruger p89 mags ??

They do not take the P89 magazine at all actually. It's the SR series magazine-well that comes installed and the Glock mag-well is included for self installation.

which PC9? the old one takes any P designation ruger pistol mag. new PC9 must take the glock mags?

Yes new ones will take Ruger sr9 mags I believe. Also it comes with a Glock magwell insert for Glock Mags
The old pc9 took the P series mags

they should have really changed the name or something, lots of people get confused and dont realize that this is the 2nd kick at the can for Ruger with the PC9.

PC9 2.0 or something.

then all the old people like myself wouldn't confuse it with the 1996-2007 version that only took the P-series mags and the new version that takes both Ruger mags and Glock mags.
(i can hardly wait for my pre-order to arrive!!!!)

I'm going to hijack my own thread here, but I originally asked which would be the shortest mag that would work in the carbine. I have no experience with either the Ruger or Glock mags (I've ordered a couple spare Ruger mags, just to get things going), but I was wondering, for those of you that have experience with either or both, do you think one could be cut down and shortened so that it fit flush with the mag well? I'd like to have one magazine that was flush fit, even if it was only 5 or 6 round capacity. I know I'm kinda going opposite to what everybody else is looking for, but just curious, thanks.

I saw the post regarding Glock 26 mags, and I understood that they are the shortest available, but I thought that they would still be quite a bit below the bottom of the mag well, am I mistaken in this? Will the 26 mags be flush with the magazine well?

Looks to be a G26 magazine in a PC9, still protrudes a bit.

Thanks for that photo, that’s exactly what I was looking for. I did a search and couldn’t find any photos. That’s short enough for me, thanks again.

It is called the pc carbine whereas the original is called the pc9.

PC9
PC stands for Police Carbine

so your theory is they are calling it the Police Carbine Carbine?
I believe the pc is short for "pistol calibre" which makes the name pc carbine appropriate. It's listed as the pc carbine on Ruger's website. I think they have it right.
