Looking into a PCP rifle.....probably 22cal (since I have a supply off pellets) and dont want to spend a fortune.
Probably $1500 with a scope,prefer multi shot.
What we can get here....compared to the US well....
Looking for opinions please.
Will be a pest killer....

Does the $1500 include the need for a pump to fill it up?
- Do you have a PAL?

If I was in your shoe, I'd be tempted to 1) Have a look at what's available on the used market (There's a Steyr Auto-5 in 22 listed for $1500). If nothing strikes my fancy, I'd give serious consideration to the FX Dreamline Classic (In wood or synthetic, depending on your taste)
- Regulated
- Possibility to adjust the velocity for indoor plinking to pesting

Then slap a Discovery scope on it, for $100
(They've been getting good reviews)

I have a PAL.....
Came across the Umarex Gauntlet....
For the price it seems to be a pretty good rifle.

Head over to GTA and/or Airgun Nation and hang out on the forums for a while and see what people have to say about whatever rifle you are looking at. Check out reviews online also.

I have a PCP. Air Arms 510 .177 10 shot rotary mag repeater... extremely accurate with a Hawke scope... shoots heavy .177's about 950 f/s and not very loud.

Check out the Air Arms S200. I have one in .177 (it's technically the wife's rifle), and it's an awesome little PCP, I'm really impressed. Ergo's and accuracy are awesome. It's not too costly either. It's made by CZ firearms.

Rowan Engineering makes nice upgrades for it, if you want to dress it up a bit or make it mag fed.

Took my Benjamin Traip NP out for some shooting.
I've never been able to get this thing to pattern consistent.
Different pellets...doesn't seem to matter.
Sorta impulse bought that evening....ordered the Guantlet....plus the new Warrior air compressor cause why not

Congrats. Please do a review of your new rifle and compressor when you have time.

Will do....
I figured with all the good stuff said about the Gauntlet it would be a good way to step into a pcp.
The compressor wasn't a nessicity but it's less than 300 more than a good hand pump, and I can always sell it if pcp isn't my thing so why not.

Not impossible but harder to get any break barrel to group well.
Where did you purchased your Trail NP from?
If it's the PAL version the velocity should be close to 1100 fps. Or if it has the Canadian piston in it (under 500fps)
Gravel Agency Inc should carry a replacement if you care to upgrade.

Jefferson State Air Rifles (US) makes a "Umarex Gauntlet Tuning Kit"

There's a few other mods if you care for that sort of thing.
Love mine, don't shot it near enough as I'd like.

It's the PAL version of the Trail NP.
Its had alot of pellets thru it....just never consistent.....different scopes, ammo.
I should have just went pcp when I bought it a few years ago.

I had a .22 cal Benjamin Trail NP. I put a different trigger in it and it helped. Once I got a Weihrauch, I was ruined for anything but. Last fall I traded the Benjamin to a Hutterite, they do have photos on their PAL, for a bunch of meat and baked goods, best trade EVER!

Air gun source, they are in Canada and good to deal with,i guarantee you will get real tired real quick of pumping so a compressor is the best option and a few out there to choose from.
as far as what to get you will get as many different answers as people you ask... i have a air arms and love it!! and a fx and love it too. both great guns in my opinion but different???
not sure how far to go in this description so if you want to know more from my "experience" shoot me a pm youtube is a great source for finding out about this topic as well
good luck!!!

Purchased a PCP Pump at the beginning used it for a whole weekend...and sold it.
Not because it was hard or tiring (well okay a bit) but because of my lower back injury.
Went with a Yong Heng compressor, Silica desiccant beads filter and an expired 1hr. scba bottle.

So everything finally showed up.....go it together.
The Warrior compressor is a noisy beast but fills to 3000lbs pretty fast.
On to the Guantlet....
Feels very nice, not too heavy, goes to shoulder nicely,I like it.
Cocking action is pretty stiff, but already getting better.
The magazine once you get used to it is very good.
Shooting wise....well its 0C with a strong wind in good old southern Alberta,so it wasnt pleasant at all but I put 50 rounds thru it and it groups well....still had 600lbs in it and i did dry fire a few times to feel trigger.
Ran out of windage tho to the right.....the HATSAN OPTIMA 3-12X50 AO RIFLE SCOPE is nice to look thru but not sure about the mounts.
Just too cold to mess around too much....tomorrow is supposed to be nicer.
So my initial impressions of the rifle are very good.
Ive never shot a hi end end PCP so I cant even say how it compares but for the money it feels good, shoots good, shoots alot on a charge....
Once I get the scope sorted out ill be very happy with it.
