A pen!? That's way too high falutin' there buster. Only a pencil carved by a dull pocket knife will really meet the low tech requirements of the task, lol. - dan

I had to step up and go to the pen. The pencil doesn't write as well on wet paper as my fancy pen does. On the island it is brutaly wet 6 months a year.

Crayon's on waxed butcher paper.Write(print) in the rain.
Am told they can be eaten in a pinch,low in saturated fats.
Watch out in HOT weather as puddling in pockets can occur.
Excellent battery life.

LOL, that's why I use the pencil, sort of. When it's -25 the pen freezes up and won't write. - dan

You need one of those fancy $30 space pens that will write under water

its a mio digiwalker. its actually way too fancy for what i use it for but it runs the windows program.

Thanks all for input, even pencil pushers! I have used the 4DOF EBV4 program from Germany, which is provided with some Doplar radar data, but am also field notebook and pencil at the range. However, as evidenced from ATR Rick and other postings, many "field-practical" and professional shooters are employing portable computers. Defintelty more than a trend!
