Just having a chat on another forum about how the PE 90 is optimized for the Swiss Pat 90 cartridge, and I'm just curious about how the PE 90s handle other ammo, specifically M193 55 grain, and what not.
What do you guys put through your Swiss Arms rifles, and what kind of results do you get?

The only factory ammo I have put through mine in the 55 gr category is UMC surplus. It shoots well in my 1 in 10" barrel. Groups around 1.5" at 100 m if I rest the rifle just ahead of the mag. I use reloads with 27 gr of W748 with Remington 71/2 primers and bulk or Speer 55 gr FMJ for around 1" grouping. With Speer 62 gr and 25.5 gr of W748 I get slightly better groups. I have 800 rounds of original Swiss Army RUAG match ammo but I have not shot a single round, don't ask why...

The GP90 performance can be easily matched and surpassed with handloading.
Your bullet choice is obviously going to depend on the twist rate of the rifling on your barrel.
Generally, use the best components (within reason) you can find like match type bullets and primers with quality loading tools, press and dies (match dies are worth the extra coin).
Be as consistant in your loading techniques as you can.

Skip using FMJ if you are looking to optimise the accuracy.
