For anybody who has actually shot one of the non-restricted rifle versions of the PE90 left-handed, how suitable are they in terms of handling, access to controls and especially spent brass trajectory?
Safety is ambidextrous. Cocking handle is on the right easily operated by a left hand shooter. Mag release is ambi. Bolt release is on the left but you can of course release the bolt with the cocking hande too. With mine, the brass goes forward and right at about 2:00 oclock. I would say its very suitable for a lefty
I am a lefty, and in all respects (IMHO) the rifle is better for me to shoot than an AR. The only exception to this is when trying to get it rigged up with a sling...
Thanks for the replies - sounds like left-handed operation is OK except for the sling mounting. Maybe there is something suitable or adaptable from aftermarket suppliers?
From one comment it sounds like reloading is a challenge - what are people using for ammunition? I think the rifles are 1:10 twist.
They shoot Fed and Win 55gr and 62gr ammo well, also IVI 62gr. Hand loading with 69gr SMK is not bad but is the limit of what it will stablize. I rebarreled mine with a 1:7" barrel so that I could shoot 77gr SMK bullets.
