Looking at getting a larger ball mold for my Pedersoli Brown Bess. I currently own a .69cal one. But in the pursuit of better accuracy Im looking to produce larger balls. Thinking about purchasing the Lyman .715cal ball mold. BUT noticed Pedersoli themselves offers what looks to be a more complete ball mold for the same price called the classic ball mold... this interests me however I cant find much info about it. Its advertised to be a mold for .75cal Brown Bess's and is stated to produce a .75cal ball ?? this makes no sense to me. Id like to think it produces a slightly undersized ball but can find no conformation of this. Does anyone here have experience with this mold ?

I have a .735 round ball mould for shooting my Miroku Brown Bess and a snug ball like that, if patched like a rifle or trade gun, can make for a pretty accurate smoothbore using a very crude rear sight to aid in maintaining a consistent sight picture on the target.

The sight is just a bit of sheet metal, with an upright bend and a notch filed in the top of that upright, held in place by the tang screw ... as seen on the left side of this composite image. On the right is the very first target I shot years ago using this arrangement - my standard "hold" on a target would normally be at the bottom of the black - which is where I held for that first round ... and it went in low, pretty much at point of aim. I then shifted my sight picture to the centre of the bull and produced the next nine holes. (As indicated on the target, range was 50 yards.)
