My newest purchase is this rifle in .451 caliber. This is a very nice muzzle loader which is well thought of in the long range ML loading matches. I would like to find someone who is using one regularly to suggest some loads. Dave
www.jcunard.com is the place for info on these rifles Joe is full of info. welcome to the fun sport of long range muzzleloaders. Leeeshaver74@yahoo.com makes great replacement soule sights for the gibbs with lots of windage. Paper patch bullet moulds fine onion skin paper .45 cal wonder wads, 90grs 2f goex and away you go. platnum lined nipples are another thing but you must find RWS caps they give the best performance.
Thanks for the info. I am so impressed with the fit, finish and the quality of wood. It has only been fired ten times. I came in a custom built wooden case made in the style of the 1860's. Looking forward to shooting it. Dave
This rifle was purchased by an old friend who had terminal cancer at the time. We fired it at 100 and 300 yards...ten shots....prior to his death. Rifle came to me through his brother who remembered I had admired it. I am going to check out the "cunard" site soon. Dave
