Does anyone have a Mang-in-Graz or a le Page for sale? Used ones are available in the US but it would probably be a great hassle to import one. And PLEASE, does anyone know where I can get NMLRA-type targets printed in BC?You can get them from the NMLRA direct, but the shipping costs almost double the cost of the targets. I'll buy a bunch, several thousand if I can get them to Vancouver Island at a decent price. Thanks Guys.

The big thing about targets is the style of paper they are printed on. You want paper that'll punch easily and not rip. This seems to be much more an issue with the lower velocity rounds from what I've seen. I just use regular 11x17 photocopies for my own targets and the .45ACP and .38Spl do tend to tear the paper more than to punch clean like the higher velocity stuff does.

If you have any target made from paper that you know produces nice clean holes take it around to your local printers and see if they can identify it and get a stock of it for you. As for the images on the targets that's the easy part. Just do your own using a cheap/free CAD or drawing program that can produce circles and other shapes. If the printer guys just look at you funny then study what sort of papers they have and what you can find in some local crafts stores. Seems to me that the softer clean punching target paper is sort of like the art store "craft" papers. Go buy a couple of sheets and see how well they take round ball hits. If the results are good then see if your local printers can get a bunch of it in white or buff and then supply them with a target image to print of your choice.

Working with the local suppliers for this sort of thing will definetly be easier than trying to work at arm's length when you're not really sure what you want and need. Also you NEED an image to supply them. They don't do the image for you. So you'll need to get onto the image designing in any event.

I googled for "NMLRA targets" and found this site with more options than you can shake a stick at for images so I'm not sure which you're after.

Thank you BCRider, You are perfectly right about the paper. At present I am drawing my targets on the backing paper from a roll of linoleum with a felt pen and compass. I have a couple of Nmlra targets that I could get the correct ring sizes from.Another thing you are right about. Printers DO look at you funny-------!Thanks for the input.,Cheers!C-F

LOL Oh man, you're doing this the HARD WAY! ! ! ! ! :D

Staples, Office Depot and various office service printers will have photocopiers that will output 11x17. Even if you can't run a CAD or artwork program yet then do ONE and have them photocopy a bunch for you. For pure black just use pure black. But if you want grey I've found that photocopiers have a real time with grey. So if you want grey do it with a cross hatch of lines so that it LOOKS grey from a distance but up close it's a close spaced set of lines. It may not be perfect but it'll be good enough. And if you find the balls tear away flaps of paper like my slower bullets do then look at the art/craft paper option. But if this is just to check on your skillz then likely photocopier paper will be just fine. And you can even do a 1/2 size master on 8.5 x 11 but in a 5.5 x 8.5 frame and have them double the size onto 11 x 17. So you don't even need a printer that'll handle the big stuff. Or do a 7 x 14 master and have them enlarge it by 120% to do the same thing.
