Hi all,
Today one of my Budd's came by and we made a trade I traded a very used but well maintained long-land bess I built a few years ago, for a Kentucky rifle, a maple blank and 45 cal rifle barrel and a rev war canvas tent
The Kentucky is a 40 or 45 "great for plinking and varmints" has seen some serious field time, and has definitely been gone over by a very competent smith at some time, she has a aftermarket vent a nice flat breech "god knows I hate patton breeches" and one hell of a sparky lock, I figure I'm going to widen,deepen and polish the pan "I prefer deep big pans" strip and just oil finish the stock and mayhap get a whitty saying engraved on the brass patchbox.
The barreled blank is going to be made into a true poor boy...
Anyhow heres a couple pictures!!
