has annyone run into this problem....?....
just picked up a williams sight model wgrs-54 to mount on one of my win 9422
rifles but the sight picture is way to high...even if i lower it as far down as i can the thing shoots 8 inches high??....according to what i have read there should be no need to replace the front ramp with this sight...but...it looks like i may have to??..annyone have this problem??...is there another brand of aperture sight that i can buy that slides over a milled dovetail slot and will work with the existing front ramp and bead??....
thanks................Dan................................................

On 9422, a front sight height of .450 is required. I bought one of these higher front sights from Western Gun Parts when I put a wgrs-54 on my 9422.

It works Ok but it is a narrow blade with a bead sight. I think I would prefer a solid post for a front sight with the peep sight.

Must get up to the club tomorrow and shoot the 9422, fun little rifle.

I put a new higher front on my 9422 when I installed a Williams rear aperture sight.
Two reasons, it was too low and the original round bead will shoot to different points of impact depending on where the light is coming from. It's a bad design. Replace it with a flat or slanted-up beveled bead or blade, and your accuracy will improve. You don't need to change the ramp.
