Hey all. I was given a cooey Winchester 64. Has both names on it. It's grooved for mounts with a front post and has the stepped notched plate rear sight on the barrel. I plan to re blue it all but want a rear peep sight instead of the factory sights. Are there any adjustable rear peep sights that can use the dovetail grooves and work with the factory front post. Not looking for a full out target sight but more like an adjustable ghost ring sight. I Don't want to spend more than the rifles worth in this project

I've never used one, but they do exist. I don't know a Canadian source, but they must be here somewhere.

Rear peep that fits standard rimfire dovetails:

I think you will find that any dovetail mounted peep will be too high for the existing front sight due to the thickness of the attaching base. If you want to use the original front sight you would have to d&t a side mount peep such as a Lyman 57. If you want to use a dovetail mounted sight like the Williams FP-GR you can always get a higher front blade or one of those Firesights. Skinner has higher front blades.

Any of the options that mount neatly on the dovetail and have an adjustable height means that it's going to be too tall to work with the front sight. It's not that big a deal to get a taller front though.

Williams Gunsite sells a peep sight for 22`s and you can also get their replacement front sight , and you can also get their sight from pyramydair.com ,at a better price
