I suppose it might be a bit like looking where you are going. As the front sight post neared the target I wanted to shoot, the adjacent target bullseye would appear to enlarge/focus slightly better. Maybe it was a case of me shooting a bad group and want to blame it on something other than me; ergo I started to really take notice of the adjacent target more than I should have.
However, I did feel a little vindicated once things went back to normal after removing one of the bullseye targets.
