If it works, it works!
This peep sight is on the rear of the bolt on my Mauser action Holland and Holland 30.06. When you push the release button on the opposite, it drops down so that you can sight through the "V" sight on the rear of the barrel. If the scope is mounted, you can see under it using either sight.
