Since they are for Mil surps, this seems to be the place to ask. :D Have more guns than hooks, so I need some more. :) Where could a guy find some of these? They have to have a big enough loop, not to mar the stock.

I made quite a nice rack once when I had a hidden room by putting screws in the wall and putting surgical rubber over the screws to. Protect the rifles #12 x 4“ screws work just fine

I have mounted rails, then used shelf brackets. Covered the shelf brackets with split foam pipe insulation for padding.
Check the weight rating for the standards and brackets. Make sure to use good screws into the studs. On a four foot section of rail you can install four brackets, each with four guns. Sixteen guns per 4'x5' section of wall.

Ditto for tubing over pegboard hooks. The thicker ones are better than the thinner.

Any commercial hardware supply can get you peg board hooks with the rubber coating and the extra pin to keep them falling out when you temporarily remove an item. If you buy them by the box of 25, 50 or 100 they are not that expensive. Not much more than regular pegs and then putting on surgical tubing. Also, be sure to use 1/4 inch peg board as when you get a 4 x 8 sheet loaded it can split.

Not sure where you are located, but look for small packs of odd ball pegboard hooks in stores like Walmart, Zellers, etc, as well as any of those "clearance" type stores that sell line ends, bankruptcy stock, etc. I found an arm load of nice, odd pegs at Forest City Surplus in London, Ont.

Now to get my new gunroom done. 16 sheets of 1/4", 4'x8' pegboard are mounted, next the ceiling and trim.....:D

If you can find the hooks without rubber coating, you can get a rubber "dip" for the hooks, that works fairly well. (I've used the rubber compound for making grips on tools, etc).
