It is now confirmed, the Prince Edward Island Rifle Association's annual prize meet is being held on September 10th-11th with an 8:00am start. It starts so early because there are 6 matches to shoot on Saturday, and 5 more to shoot on Sunday.
It will be held on the beautiful DND Alexandra shooting range in Alexandra, just outside of Stratford. You will need 120 rounds plus sighters, so if you do not convert any of your sighters you will need 144 rounds all together. I would personally take more should a shoot-off need to take place or other issues arise.
We will be shooting the "older" 1MOA V-bull DCRA target, sometimes known as the TR target. Should the need for a shoot-off come about, we have decided all shoot-offs taking place will be from 600 yards on the new 1/2MOA DCRA F-class target.
There will be a banquet Saturday night at a time and location that has yet to be confirmed, will advise upon further development.
New shooters are encouraged to come out. No need to be worried if your rifle, or yourself
, are accurate enough, just "run whatcha brung" and have fun! If you aren't able to, or don't want to spend the whole weekend, you do have the option of only coming one day and paying match fees accordingly. Spectators are welcome as long as good range etiquette is used at ALL times. I won't lie, it's a terrible spectator sport and it's quite boring sitting there watching everyone else shoot.
Questions, comments or concerns are welcomed.
Cheers,
Spencer
