Pelee Island Pheasant Hunts 2016

The first hunt on Pelee Island is this Thursday, October 20th. Does anyone have an update on how far along the harvest is?

I am in the same county, here we have atleast 50% of the beans off. Farmers are working hard daily, beans coming off left and right all day.

It's raining today. Not much farming today

Day 1: it was okay at the start but by mid morning the rain moved in and stayed for the day. Definitely got wet but the birds were there to be had.

We are going again this week which is the third hunt.

Myself and 10 of my buddies went to the second hunt. First day was a little wet but second day was fantastic. We had a great hunt and got all our birds. There are still quite a few beans on but that is good to hold the birds for the third and cleanup hunts. I have gone hunting there for over 20 years and saw more birds than ever this year. I am sure the rest of the hunts will be good.

I was at the second hunt. Birds were in heavy cover after heavy winds and driving rain on Wednesday. I'd say crops were maybe 2/3 down, not the 80% claimed. We had a great time with 66 birds on the ground for 7 men.
