Hey all need some input from you guys . I need a scope for my pellet gun and also for .22 after my PAL/RPAL gets done I am cheap and looking to only spend under 100$ and more then likely the cheapest I can get. I am aware that the pellet gun rail are smaller then the .22 rail and would need an attachment . I am looking at doing shooting out to 100-200 yards and close up to 20-40 yards . I have been looking at some 3-9x Tasco and they do not look very bad at all. You thoughts on what I should get ?. Thanks .

I've read elsewhere that the recoil from a spring driven air-gun can seriously damage a "regular rifle scope"

Here are some links that back this up:

http://www.airgundepot.com/air-rifle-scopes-overview.html

Notice the bold red text in the 2nd link "NEVER PUT A FIREARM SCOPE ON AN AIR RIFLE"

Now, that being said I don't know if our dinky little sub 500 fps airguns need to worry about this.

Personally I would go to Canadian tire and buy a $15 4x Crossman or Daisy air rifle scope and save the rest of your money for a nicer scope for your .22

That way you don't need to worry about wrecking a new scope using it with an air rifle, and you don't ever need to swap scopes.

I have heard of such a thing while I was in a gun store looking for a scope the worker there said that I would not need to worry about such a thing with a sub 500fps and as long as I have a good mount I would be fine. That being said I have used the 20-30$ scopes before and there work fine but would like to have a adjustable power .

for $49 you can get a centre point 4x32 air rifle rated scope. Great buy (i have 2 of them, on a springer air gun and a .22lr rifle. Make sure the scope is "air gun" or "spring gun" rated, and doesn't say "rimfire." The $29 tasco will work for your .22, but will be totally done in after a day or two of shooting your pellet gun. If you happen to have a crossbow scope kicking around, that'll work too

Check out scopesandammo.com Eric has lots of good scopes for springers. Lots of variety in your price range and any kind of mount.
He even has some scope stops just in case your mounts won't stay put.

I read somewhere that Leupold's were all air rifle rated, but I've never seen anything official.
