Pellet Gun oil

Is pellet gun oil just Air Tool Oil? I have air tool oil and gun oil. Will one or the other do the same as pellet gun oil? Just pulled out my pellet Guns from 25- 35 years ago when I used nothing on them. Still shoot good. LOL Thanks.

For a co2 gas gun yes air tool oil of ATF works. For a spring piston type no. You need a non petroleum silicone oil. Otherwise it will detonate in the spring chamber from the pressure of firing and damage the gun. This is known as "dieseling" and can be easily avoided.

Canadian tire sells Non Detergent oil for $3 a liter, oil till you die

of coarse motor oil is NOT for a compression chamber, piston or seal. it is may be used on other parts like hinches, etc

Thank you @dr.fire. I have gun oil that has done me well for 45 years. I did buy a tube of air gun oil. Buy Molly grease likely in time for my springers.
