It's the start of day 2 of the Pemberton CQB clinic and I am grabbing breakfast at McDs here at the Whistler Village. We were exposed to copious amounts of sunshine and high twenty degree temperature. The crew is pumped for the walk through of the match and then this afternoon we do the match run through.

Well how did the days go for you?

What did you learn and take away from the clinic?

Cheers
Barney

Hi Barney, I just joined CGN the other day and found your post about an hour ago. I had an awesome time learning CQB. The vitamin D was intense and is still pouring down.
The days went by really fast and the learning curve was vertical. I have to upgrade from that mini 14, and gosh darn it's hard to insert a stock 5 rnd mag in the mod prone position. I like the AR and am gonna check some out tomorrow. It's not easy to tag Herman when walking, more practice. We will incorporate some mod prone into our 3 gun shoots. See you next year.

Yes. That's an SKS. Shot left-handed. Like a Boss.

Chickenwing throws it down. Stance Police: if you don't have a teenage daughter who thinks everything that comes out of your mouth is nonsense, keep it to yourself...

Nothing like taking that Mini14 to the CQB clinic and realizing that them A Team reruns don't show any mag changes! Time for the AR15 koolaid! :ar15:

Glad you learned a fzck of a lot, and that's why I am yer edumakator! ha ha ha ha :D

Cheers,
Barney

I wish I had heard of this earlier. Looks like it was a blast. Am I correct in assuming you might be back for another clinic??

Next July assuming I ain't working at an apprenticeship. This is/was my last summer off as a high school teacher. Next year, things might change and I might not have the time off to carry out a road trip again. We gotta wait and see. Gotta go back to school and learn how to become an electrician. Wooohooo

Cheers,
Barney

We had three of them going (with all the NEA KoolAid) and kept up pretty well. Things are tanks.

Used to have ARs. Got rid of them for these. Take them where ever and when ever we like.
Cz's finally. Yaaa. Don't drink the AR kool aid. They're over rated. Unless you like to do stoppage drills :)

Any plans for those who attended the clinic to maybe start running CQB matches/mini clinics in Lower Mainland? Give us a taste of what those ORA folk get to do.

I am a wannabee Erect Chicken, next year as long as I can land an apprentice job with a local business, doing the solar panel installation fun. :D My next career! That's why it's hard to promise another Western Road trip next July!

Cheers,
Barney

amazing, I have never heard of a school teacher taking up a trade. There are lots of Tradesmen who have taken up teaching. Barney, at least you picked the most civilized and skilled trade there is, a Sparky.

yuk yuk yuk.... I've set up so many computer labs with routers, CAT 5 cable, hardware, networking software and then babysat networks for years; then I've taught programming (got over 11 languages under my belt, but I'm getting fuzzy) and logic gates. Being a geek is right up my alley. Time to pursue other learning opportunities while I exit the classroom (85 factor and all) and leave my job to a young graduate getting into the game. :D

Then I might just be running CQB games out WEST! :ar15: Who knows, eh? I've given the Fort MakeMoney GC folks a taste of the M14 and then some CQB drills. Then this summer, I brought the CQB fun to SK and Coastal BC (well, Pemberton anyways). So we are gonna git the ball rolling!

Cheers,
Barney

PS: thanks for the kind words....
