Pentax DCF 12x42 bino's?

I don't have much experience with pentax glass but they seem to get good reviews. Can you be more specific on the model? Pentax calls almost all of thier roof prisims PCF. In my opinion 12x is a bit too much zoom. I like 8x42s for most everything except for 10x50 porros are hard to beat for star gazing (I know not releated). Magnification is based on opinion, I find 12x a little too unsteady and I like a good FOV but I'm sure others love 12x. Take a look at the retail price of the pair you're looking at and if it's a good discount, and they are indeed in good condition (look very closly at the objective lens and the eyepiece end) I would pick them up.
