The last standard trade guns made used Enfield Rifled Musket pattern locks and barrel bolsters.
I've been thinking about making one of these as a project this winter.
Have a repro lock, a serpent, trigger guard, barrel blank, walnut plank, etc.
I've been thinking that the breech end of a scrap Enfield barrel could be adapted, to get the bolster. Should be easier than whittling one out of steel.
Or, has anyone ever seen an Enfield style breechplug for sale?
