Which have you found to work the best ? Any sabot for bigger bore muzzleloaders ? Measured mine today and its about .503 .504

I havent been able to get a better group than 3 inches ..

I have been using 4 flap MMP sabots in my Savage 50 ML. I found the Hornady sabots too soft and probably too small. They slid down the bore with very little resistance.Even with MMP sabots I found the barrel had to cool off completely between shots or the accuracy suffered. This is due to the sabots softening due to barrel heat.
I haven't tried the 2 flap sabots.
On a recent range trip at temperatures of 7 C I gave it about 5 minutes between shots. On a previous trip at about 25 C I had to wait 30 minutes between rounds and keep the sabots in the shade.
Mind you this is just about testing grouping ability. For hunting at typical muzzle loading ranges it is a non issue.
I just received some Harvester orange "crush rib" sabots which shoot very well. They were and expensive experiment due to the increases in USPS shipping rates.
Have been using 250 gr SST .452 dia. Just given some 300 grn XTP .452 dia. that I will be trying..

I want to try the hph 12 and 24 . I was given tc superglide and i noticed down range that they mostly have one flap ripped off and the other intact . I have terrible accuracy with them . I am trying sst 250 with the provided sabots and accuracy is about 3-4 inches . Don't really love it . I tried building up with alum foil and i didn't see much improvements but that cant be taken as quality testing being as i discovered i had a major crude ring that was keeping my bullet 1 inch off my powder .

One further point to consider is the primer your using.. I was having a number of fliers with Remington 209 and switched to Winchesters which really improved matters. Savage recommends Winchester or Federal for best accuracy.

I seem to be able to only get cheddites primers . I'm learning that primers can be a major factor in accuracy . Wonder if many 209 are not consistent in power rating . I have mmp sabots coming

My bore is a bit tight so I'm using the hph24's. In smokeless you have to maintain a tight fit. If the bullet/sabot is too loose you'll get poor ignition. Poi changed about 9" when I changed sabots as well.

Mayhap some one nearby can spot you a couple of .458 bullets when you get your sabots.
Never spoke to the gent direct just read some of the articles on the site.
Lots of info on Doug's message boards as well. Same with Randy Wakeman's site.
