I picked this up from a fellow CGN'er and thought I'd share some pics of this relatively hard to find Mauser. It's a Peruvian Modelo 1932 made in Czechoslovakia under contract. This is a small ring 98 action with a bent bolt, lightened trigger guard, checkered knob, checkered trigger, and "backward" safety unique to some Peruvian models. A couple other features that differentiate these from the Vz 33 they are based on include the front sight and charger guide.

The bolt and receiver match but the stock is 15 digits off. There isn't much, if any, finish left and the stock has been lightly sanded. The bore is bright and shiny and in it's original 7.65x53 chambering.

Approximately only 4000 of these were ever made and few survive today. Most are badly pitted or in poor shape so even with the issues this one has, I'm pretty happy to own it.

Nice Peruvian there JB!!!! I absolutely love Peruvian Mausers, and I really like the 7.65x53mm cartridge. Because of the cartridge similarities, I always tell people, it was 7.62NATO before NATO was cool!! ;) Gotta love how it uses virtually the same bullets as the .303Brit and 7.62x54R, makes for easier reloading.

I have owned an original 1891 Peruvian with intact Peruvian Crest (Republica Peruana) and it was a gorgeous rifle, had the original flip up Mauser sights (ala; the IG 71/84)... Sold it a while back, but thinking of another. Now I just have my absolutely GORGEOUS 1909 Peruvian in 7.65x53mm. It literally looks like it came out of the factory last week, no joke! It has the original sling, cleaning rod, and bayonet too! I like how they changed the Crest as well to say "Republica del Peru", interesting in the name change from "Peruana"...

What I really like about it too is that it is almost IDENTICAL to a German WW1 Gewehr 98, right down to the short top handguard and Lange Visier sight! I put it beside my 1914 Mauser Oberndorf Gew98, and the Peruvian definitely wins the beauty contest!

South American Mausers are VERY underrated... well, pretty much all Mausers besides German issued and used Mausers are underrated... but at least that usually means affordable quality Mausers for many of us!

I must say that those Moravians sure know how to make a nice Mauser, almost puts the Germans to shame! Circle Z for the win! ;)

Cheers!

Thanks DF! I have a Peruvian 1935 and a 1909 as well. My 1909 isn't mint like yours but it's all matching, even the bolt, which is extremely hard to find in a Peruvian.

I'm going to do a proper photo shoot of it in the near future here and post it. You should post yours up with it. They are a truly spectacular rifle as far as fit and finish go.

Nice rifle and pics. I always love seeing these beautiful rifles. Also South American Mausers seem to be going up in price/scarcity now as people are realizing how nice they are.

Very beautiful rifle. The crest on the receiver is absolutely gorgeous. They really don't make guns like they used to.
