Just choose a very slow powder, a hot primer and start with the minimum suggested load in the manual and work up a load. Re-25, Retumbo, H50BMG, are all good candidate powders.

Stuff it full ( max allient load) of RL-25 and use a 180 TSX! I loaded for a friends and could not get the 200 to shoot but the 180s were great with this powder.

Accurate Arms Powder is supposed to good as well for the 300 Rum but I have not tried it

im wondering how that 208 grain amax would work on a big game animal .even say black/grizzly bears .?

With that same bullet, I like 105.0 grs of US869.
