I am very happy and looking forward to have Ryan and this PRS series come here to Petawawa ! As a semi auto in 223 or 308 are allowed for the match's if anyone wants to bring a restricted firearm to the match they will need a letter of invitation from the club .Then you contact the CFO to get a temp ATT as we are located on a federal range.
As well I can send out maps or local info so just send me a pm with your email address for those or a letter of invitation.

Initially there was talk of a practice day before some of these matches, I'm a little bummed that that isn't happening that way (with the exception of the mast match) but regardless, I can't wait!

Okay all my PR shooters....

Dogpile on these matches. Ryan and Morgan have worked long and hard to make these events a reality. For those of you who don’t know us/ or these two organizers, they are not rookies at this entire game. They are extremely well versed in organizing events such as these. I will guarantee a great shooting competition event / layout / match conduct / and several giggles!

Get on board and get registered. For those of you travelling and needing to book accommodations, consider these three places:

* Quality Inn and Suites
* Time Traveller Motel
* Petawawa Inn

Personally, if I ain’t helping with CQB at Base Borden with the ORA, I’ll be bringing my trainer Remmy SPS 700 Tac in 223 with 68 grain Hornady HPBT booolits. It’s a training opportunity for me since I don’t have to be the MD.

This kind of matches have been a work in progress for a long time. I’m pleased to see the “green light” happening

Cheers, Barney

Holy F**k we will finally have some PRS competitions within a 2hr drive of Ontario’s 2nd largest city. Unbelievably good news!

Been a long time since I’ve been on the field range at Pet. Excited for this. Don’t want to jinx it..

Very cool! Excited to see this happening in Ontario. In my opinion, one day matches are the way to go. I have a family being away for a whole weekend aint easy.

Sorry for the "stupid" question. Please define 1. Open, 2. Tactical and 3. Production, as listed on PractiScore?

So,a Semi in 5.56 or Bolt in 308, for these types of matches, at the ranges we will shoot at Pet, does one type make the first experience easier?
At least no "butts" work. :)
Thanks

I can answer a couple questions in regards to Pet and will let Ryan jump in on the different classes.The military only allow specific calibres for each range with no exceptions and are very strict about that and their range procedures in general .The ranges we will be using allow some pistol calibres and only the following rifle calibres 223 ,7.62x39,303,308,338 Lapua . Ryan has set the caliber restrictions at 223 and 308 for the match but if you want to try your old Enfield or tacticool SKS I am sure it would be allowed..lol We will be shooting off of barricades at steel targets out to a max range of 620 meters (I had to put that in the range requests as well). A semi in 5.56 was mentioned and I assume the OP meant an AR style of rifle which is fine but if its a restricted firearm a letter of invitation from the club is required and then get a STATT from the CFO.

At these matches there will be no Open class because of the caliber restrictions. Everyone will be in tactical class. Even I had to order a 308 barrel to shoot.
You can also qualify for production if you are with in the PRS guide lines of a factory rifle under 2000 US and scope under 2000 US.
Because of the limited distance of targets a 223 will do well. You can shoot a semi for these matches. As Chalkriver has said for restricteds you will need an invite letter and ATT because of match being on a DND range.
