I created this petition in support of the Travelodge, Saskatoon, SK and Borgata Wedding Events, Toronto, ON for going out on a limb and graciously allowing the Expos to happen. They made the effort now it's our turn to support them.

8 X 68, Thanks for starting this, I will head to the Toronto show in support this year ... perhaps will exhibit there next year if the scheduling allows it. South Africa is a huge success story in regards to conservation through hunting ... actions like this will hopefully get the truth displayed to the public!

This is pathetic! I cant believe that this petition is almost 20hrs old and we have 19 supporters. 30 people have viewed this thread. How many members are part of CGN? I guess the anti's win, and they're probably laughing their heads off. Next time you cry about losing hunting or gun privileges look in the mirror any say to yourself that you never gave a #### and got exactly what you deserved. They had over 6000 signatures in less that 48hrs. Doesn't matter that not everyone hunts. We are supposed to support each other.
I guess it's true that Canadians would rather sit on their "apathy's" and let the other person deal with it. I'm embarrassed that I made the effort, and I'm sorry for wasting peoples time.

I signed it. The total is up 32 now. Have a little faith. I'd post it to Facebook but I just creep my wife's account and got supreme #### for using her account to bash the Saskatoon Inn (oops). I did post it to my Twitter feed so hopefully that gives it some steam.

I would sign but I refuse to use CHANGE.ORG which will spam you with anti-crap (anti-everything) every month forever if you sign up with them. I have signed petitions before on the site and it took 2 years to get off their damn mailing list
Ban firearms this, stop hunting that, etc...

also most petitions make no sense
"create a law to ban violence against aboriginal woman" (against the law already)
"kijiji Canada - ban sale of pets" (what??? maybe puppy mill but other pets are transferred on that site as well - old cat needs new home etc...)
"tell maple leaf to stop torturing animals" (against the law already)

I am planning on going to expo.in Vaughn but refuse to sign petition with any potential tree huggers virus as well.
I am the one bugged with all their crap and dont have to have that on my PC as well

Should hunters protest every time tree huggers have their own meetings or in front of their "non profit institutions"???
What is this world coming to,if it was up to them and how much money they wasted on BS African animals would not exist by now, maybe some goverments too.
Hunters contributed more to conservation and feed more mouths from their "trophy killing" than all of this idiots worldwide combined. How are they even allowed to do what they do,is there any normal rules anymore.

Looks like the show is cancelled;
TORONTO - An African trophy hunting show that is expected to bring hundreds of hunters from across the globe to a venue north of Toronto this weekend has raised the ire of animal rights activists.
African Events Canada, the organizer of The Africa Show, says the two-day event in Vaughan, Ont., offers Canadians an opportunity to book trips to Africa where they can hunt animals such as lions, leopards, elephants and hippopotamuses.
Activist group Animal Justice says trophy hunting is a cruel and outdated practice that should be stopped in favour of environmentally friendly activities like eco-tourism.
The group has launched an online petition against the event and is vowing to protest outside the venue if organizers go ahead with the show.
The owner of African Events Canada says the Animal Justice threats forced a hotel -- where the show was originally scheduled to take place -- to cancel the booking.
Birgit Johnstone says animal rights activists don't understand that trophy hunting has economical and ecological benefits for the local population in Africa.

I just got this email, it's also online here:

CANADA NEEDS YOUR HELP

Hunting is under direct attack and we need your help now. Today the African hunting events show was asked to leave the venue as they were setting up.

The Borgata banquet facility waited until the African Hunting events show was setting up to kick them out of the venue, citing that they feared for the safety of their property.

The event coordinator offered to hire off-duty police for security to no avail.

We need your help to let these people know that we are hunters and we, too, have rights.

We need you to send an email to them, go to their website and call to let them know we are not taking this lightly.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Their website is: www.borgata.ca.

Call: 905-760-1548

Their address is:
Borgata Wedding and event venue
8400 Jane St.
Vaughan Ont

Meanwhile, the event has located an alternative venue. It is:

Premier Place

Telephone: 905 879 0172. Their website is: www.premierplacebanquethallwedding.com.

So is the Vaughan show on or not?.....

As for the petition... I have never "petitioned" to support something.... Makes no sense.....

Well then I guess in your case there's a first time for everything. Petitions can work either way. In this case one is supporting a cause or an event. It shows that people are appreciative of an effort. I shouldn't have to explain this.

Just watched the news. Venue in TO was cancelled twice before they found a third location. The visitors were met by loud and obnoxious protestors. I wish these peeps would even try to understand that it is a billion dollar industry for Africa.

They never will because their stupidity doesn't extend past the end of their nose. You say the sky is blue but they would say it's orange. They don't give a damn about those who are affected as long as they get their own way. What the antis don't realize is that they are the cause of animals suffering and dying unnecessarily. This is the tactic that should be used to educate the public that they are wrong. Use their ideology against them.
