PGW .338 Lapua Write-ups in Gun Mags.

To follow on Steve's comment, I also think that "Savage" is suffering from bad information. I am sending my senior Wpn Tech on the MRSW Armourer's Course this month. No rifles have been delivered to my unit yet, but that is a function of operational priority. They are being fielded in priority as we speak, to high-readiness units. My unit expects to receive the Timberwolf from DLR 5-5 within the next few weeks.

The "straight skinny" from one who wears the uniform. FWIW......

Steve, do you guys ship to other countries? And if so, are you able to include a silencer if the destination country doesnt have laws against them?

Steve, I've Been to the PGW website 35+ times in the past 2 weeks.(a little obsessed) And all I can say is wow I can't wait untill I can afford one. It is a beautiful rifle.

Someone mentioned the weight, now maybe I read this wrong, but wasn't the writer of that article very impressed at the fact that the Timberwolf .338 26" barrrel is 15-15.5 pounds as oppsed to the USMC M40A3 .308 24" barrel at 17-17.5 pounds? If that is the case, I think that is pretty impresive, as the Timebrwolf not only looks like much more of a rifle, but is much more of a rifle!

Colt is handling sales and service of the TimberWolf??? Steve, no offense buddy, but I'd run away...fast! Colt has the reputation of having just about the absolute worst customer service in the industry. I know, because I've had the unfortunate experience of dealing with them in the past.

Dave:

I've got both articles. If I can find the time I'll scan them tonight.

Thats because the Marines went with a solid fiberglass filled ("sniper fill") McMillan A4 stock. I doubt the Timberwolf uses this heavy fill, there is absolutely no need for it.

PGW may not have a say in the matter. I believe Diemaco was contracted to provide weapons support services for all the CF small arms programs.

I have a suspicion PGW won't be able to comment on the subject, but I would like to know as much as can be known on the subject.

I would hate to see a valuable Canadian company and their products watered down and cheapend by the poor performance of another company.

I think you're right Canuck223...I guess their hands are tied there. Too bad, because the guys at PGW are all top-notch. As I said before, I'm as pleased as punch that such a great Canadian gun maker is finally getting the recognition, internationally, that they so richly deserve. Choosing the Timberwolf, DND finally made a smart decision! Canadian sniper teams will be fielding one of the finest weapon systems on the planet. Yay!
