I had the pleasure of an up close and personal tour of the PGW facility, and got to see their Coyote actons up close and personal. I was very pleased to learn they can produce a single-shot no problem, and they are very much in the action business.

These actions are STOUT! It is like an R-700 in a steel sleeve! Because in their typical classy taciturn way, they don't blow their own horn very much, I think we have all missed the boat on what an excellent Canadian alternative these actions are for a precision rifle build!

I hope we can goad PGW into putting a price list on the table. so we can all drool a bit more!

I am kinda surprised myself that more guys aren't using these in custom builds. The price is comparable to any of the custom actions out there. PGW are very good to deal with and you don't have to worry about any import hassles.

Everyone probably would be, but PGW didn't really market it that well...its a well kept secret I guess...I don't even think they have that on their website.

I couldn't find a price for just the ACTION on their site but I found one for the wrench $300 . One look at the price of that wrench was enough to turn me off . If and when their pricing becomes competitive I will seriously look at them( not trying to start anything but am just being honest).

Ian is very right...we do not blow our own horns too much. This is related to the nature of our primary work which involves development and supply of complete systems as opposed to components.

It would be great to supply more actions and we apologize for not having more information easily available. We are working on that however and would like to be able to offer actions more readily.

One of our issues is that it remains difficult to accommodate specific requests such as different bolt faces, port lengths, port configurations, etc that most action makers do. This is because we are usually limited to what we have in production at the time and those that were here and saw our setup will understand that altering production for specific requests is generally not possible. Something like providing a single shot is simple as it is just pulled out of line prior to the mag cut....

We will endeavor to provide more information asap regarding actions. I can indicate that currently if one was seeking folding stock rifles in 7.62, 338 or 50 we will have these abundantly available very soon....

Have one in stock ,waiting for a barrel.
and still waiting for another PGW coyote single shot.

I should add that you really need to see that wrench ;)

Also a Brownells universal type wrench can be made to work with a tiny amount of effort...not sure what they cost...

Ross, First off, thanks for the great tour. Not many shops like yours would let 45 'nutz wander around.

As for offering different configurations, I think the main demand could be met by the standard RB/RP and port configuration. Most of the rifles on the line are still .308 bolt face. While there are still exceptions, what you guys already produce would be suitable for most f'ers, and Most is the way to get one's foot in the door.

I'm still thinking .300 RUM you mentioned needed a home...

Ian,
Is this an appropriate time to say I told you so?

Not everyone missed the boat! :D

I watched a good friend wait 2.5 years for an action that never came.
In exasperation he finally bought another action.
Quality is great unless you can't have it.

Until PGW can deliver I am looking elsewhere.
When they deliver I too will buy PGW.

Wonder what stock they got to fit that Action, I would look at it closer with a Mcmillan A5 stock package.
