Im looking for some new country to hunt pheasant this fall with my German Short Hair. Ive always hunted in and around Moose Jaw as well Estevan and done well on foot with one other hunter (no dog). This year with a dog I would like to try some different areas and am looking for some advice on where I can head and gain permission to hunt.
Im thinking of going to Oungre and stay in the regional park their, Ive heard the hunting was good there but its all been through the grape vine .

Cheers!!

Ask the guys at Sask Environment (or whatever they call themselves). The biologists will be able to tell you what vegetation and ground configuration they like. That will eliminate open grain fields (for instance) and let you concentrate your search. Besides you might find a kindred spirit who loves to hunt with a dog.

Send me a PM Scott and I can get you some info for some hunting in the area you are asking about.I know lotsa people just west of Oungre in the Lake Alma area, where there is good hunting too!!!

I have never been pheasant hunting and was out scouting a good duck area yesterday. (Southern Sask) A farmer said I should get at the pheasants as well, ..
He told me of an area and that's it..

If anyone can get me out for a day, drop me a pm. I have hunted over dogs and owned dogs my whole life, Gordons, English (Blue Belton and Orange Belton) and friends had German short hair.

Have truck, will travel !:D
