Hi
So I have received my 2 copies of the cfsc exam with the stamp, one of which has to be submitted along with the pal application, along with a photo and payment.

It does mention that you do not have to submit a passport photo, but it still has to match certain criteria.

Is the easiest way just to get a passport photo and be done with it so it does not get rejected, or how do most people take the photo to send in with the pal?

That's all I have to do before I can send it in and then hurry up and wait :)

Thanks!

when i got mine i went to shoppers drugmart, told the person it was for a PAL and she looked it up in the book for the measurments and took the pictures.

It is not the same dimensions of a passport photo. If you send a passport photo you will be rejected.

Leave it to the bureaucrats to make an issue over a few millimetres. LOL

Blacks will take the correct sized picture, but they are pricy.

I went in to Sears and they did it easily. Said almost a dozen other people had gotten their PAL picture there that month.

There should have been a sheet with the photo demensions with the application.

I just got a passport photo, cut it to the dimensions required, and sent it in.

No problems.

I went to walmart for MMAR license photos which are same size as passport, they asked specifically if I wanted passport or gun license photos, the lady said they have a specific size for firearms licenses

Took mine in the kitchen against the wall, printed it off on the computer, the sheet provided had the dimensions, had no troubles when i sent it in. Have done 3 others against my kitchen wall since then as well, had no troubles.

Whoah, let's not make this a colour thing, a chinese guy took mine, and it was fine, and reasonable. I checked with the CFO on her cell phone number that I googled, and she said they didn't care who took the picture, but you do need to wear a top. She also said size matters, but would not discuss if a few millimeters mattered to her. When will this madness end? What difference does it make if I am clothed, as long as the picture is clear? "The man" never gives you a break, even when it's a woman.

Oh gebus, Dirt's evil cousin woke up.

My wife took my picture in front of a white wall. Resized it in photoshop and printed it at Blacks. Cut to their dimentions. Total cost, 24 cents.

The photo wants your face a certain size and have your shoulders in the frame. My shoulders wouldn't fit - if I scaled it so they did, my face was too small. Called the CFC, they said "it's your face we want on the card, so make sure your face is the correct size on the photo".

Dirt is an artist, I am inconsistant, and occasionally post usefull things, though I can't find anything right now. Stupid search engine...

My new Pal had my face all washed out, to be honest, bad scan I guess.?!?

She is lying, size doesn't matter, even if it is only a few mils. :D

I did mine in one of those photo booths you see in the malls. Got my RPAl a few days ago with no problem. Four pictures for $4. FYI Burnaby Metrotown.

i did my photo at one of those toonie photo booths at my local mall as well. I got 5 horrible pictures to choose from. It was a little bigger then the dimensions that they ask for but I sent a photo in anyways. They accepted it :)

If you really want to spend $20 on a passport photo, all the power to you. The instructions don't ask for a passport photo so I saved my self 18 bucks...that's 9 coffees!

I took my own picture and printed it on photo paper sized it and sent it in with the signature of my guarantor attached to the back with gluestick. also make sure you smile big for the picture there is no requirement like for passport and drivers licenses to not smile.

I have everything ready to go, but have some questions...Can your guarantor be one of your references on the application too? Also, I kind of mangled the sticker for the photo, do you think they'd accept it written on the back neatly?
