I see on the application I have that I have to cut out this little square for the photo guarantor to sign and "affix" it to the back of the photo. do they mean tape or glue when they say affix?

Tape worked for me, twice, just fine.

No, not tape or glue. They mean nail it. That's right, nail it with the biggest nail you can find.

i was going to tape it but thought it would mess with the signatures so i made a loop of tape and just used that.

I didn't affix anything. The photo place put a passport stamp on it, which my guarantor filled out. They haven't complained so far.
